Nebraska Book Company's rebrand was featured on Brand News' B-Sides last week. The rebranded company is now called Neebo and its new identity was created by Kansas City-based Nathaniel Cooper Creative. Here is the explanation behind the rebrand from NCC:
"Multiple voices always sound better when they speak as one. The 100-year old Nebraska Book Company had expanded to preside over nearly 300 college bookstores nationwide, each with a different name and personality. In the face of increased competition, much of which is based online, the company quickly recognized it needed a way to unify its on-campus and online identity. It also needed to reflect the fact that the company offered far more than books, everything from school supplies to clothing. We gave them Neebo, the complete college outfitter. The friendly name and logo, partnered with a fresh color palette, feel at home everywhere students live and appropriate with the brand’s “cool older brother” tone of voice. After creating the brand, we made it thrive at every consumer touchpoint, from posters to t-shirts to POP to neebo.com."
