Happy Thanksgiving

Not Really Related to Creative

Two things:

First, this isn't Zach writing. He's out for a honeymoon. (Congrats, man!) Additionally, he's got a new house to put the finishing touches on, and it's getting busier at the office -- so the guy needs some bloggin' help. So I'm taking over for awhile, and will keep on posting some once he gets back, too.

Second, just who the hell am I? Kevin Fitzgerald is the name; I'm an art director at Thought District in Lincoln. My story is pretty similar to Zach's: just a young son of a gun trying to learn as much as I can about the design industry. I get a kick seeing what the local peeps have to offer -- which in my opinion is way sharper than this flyover state should be expected to have. Go us!

I'm gonna see what I can do about putting the spotlight on individual designers and ad folk in the area, so stay tuned for that. In the mean time, got some back-logged updates on agency work to post soon. Check back in a bit for the real news!

New Job Board Page

Lack of Posts Lately

My apologizes for not posting nearly as much as I have in the past. My life in the last couple of weeks has really picked up with preparing for a wedding, building a house and picking up some big, high profile web projects at work. I have not had much time to devote to searching the interweb for new work. I promise to pick it up.

Some big changes are coming too. New design, website structure (with the hope of starting a job board) and a little change in the name (the deer isn't going anywhere). Stayed tuned tomorrow I will have several posts up throughout the day. Thanks for your patience.

The Podcast Cometh

Day before the Super Bowl Kevin Fitzgerald and I recorded our first podcast together. We had been emailing back and forth for about a month talking about how to expand the outside of the NE Creative blog and thus the No Coast Creative podcast was born. However with some extensive research (Google) after we recorded Kevin found there's a podcast put on by the No Coast Anarchist League... so maybe not the best name to use. So we are still working on the name and a logo.

We are planning on doing the podcast formerly known as No Coast on a monthly basis that will talk about all things advertising, highlighting national stories as well as talking about local campaigns. We plan on getting a guest on each episode not to interview but to discuss advertising. We plan on inviting anyone from a Creative Director down to the account intern, to get all the different perspectives of advertising, marketing and PR that effects all of our day to date agency lives.
