The Pitch hour long "sneak preview" aired last night pitting McKinney and WDCW against each other for the change to do an assignment for Subway's breakfast menu. I thought the production and editing was very good and I myself was intriuged but I am in the industry and I am antsy to see what other think of the show.
McKinney present two ideas but the strongest was it's "Freestyle Breakfast" concept with a video they created using an recent Youtube star named Mac Lethal rapping about the meal. WDCW pitched the idea of we are all zAMbies and Subway's breakfast menu will wake us up.
I thought it was interesting WHAT each agency pitched. McKinney didn't show all of their cards, no did they seem to put work into what they whole campaign would look like. They pitched the feel of the campaign using the rap video. WDCW on the other hand had much more of the campaign done visually. Print ads, billboards, rough radio spot and even a TV introduction to what a zAMbie is. Both have their ups and downs.
Here is a interseting video of why the CMO picked who he did. What did everyone who saw the show think?
I liked the zAMbies campaign the most, but maybe I'm partial since my weekly fix of zombies is gone now that The Walking Dead is over
