Nebraska Book Company's rebrand was featured on Brand News' B-Sides last week. The rebranded company is now called Neebo and its new identity was created by Kansas City-based Nathaniel Cooper Creative. Here is the explanation behind the rebrand from NCC:
"Multiple voices always sound better when they speak as one. The 100-year old Nebraska Book Company had expanded to preside over nearly 300 college bookstores nationwide, each with a different name and personality. In the face of increased competition, much of which is based online, the company quickly recognized it needed a way to unify its on-campus and online identity. It also needed to reflect the fact that the company offered far more than books, everything from school supplies to clothing. We gave them Neebo, the complete college outfitter. The friendly name and logo, partnered with a fresh color palette, feel at home everywhere students live and appropriate with the brand’s “cool older brother” tone of voice. After creating the brand, we made it thrive at every consumer touchpoint, from posters to t-shirts to POP to neebo.com."
Check out the various uses of the new branding here. (Source, Image: Brand New)

Phenomblue has begun to serve direct clients more and more. Phenomblue noticed that LA is experiencing tremendous growth, and along with that comes the need for mid-size digital agencies. The digital market in LA currently consists of large (we’re talking really big) agencies or ones that cater heavily to the entertainment industry. They have discovered an underserved need and want to fix it. Over the past couple months, Phenomblue has been putting together a team in LA and started renovations on an office on Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica and on July 1, they will officially expand into LA.
Phenomblue is looking to grow their team of creative technologists and interactive branding experts for the LA office. You can check out the positions they are hiring for on the Phenomblue jobs page.

Bozell has been in their new Old Market Loft office for several months now having unpacked, settled in and thrown a open house party. Bozell transformed the historic former warehouse with all of its personality—complete with worn wooden floors, a monumentally open space with high ceilings and exposed pipes—into a open work space with large, closed-off wooden pods that the employees could duck in for quick chats. They created multiple conference rooms, naming two Leo and Morris after its founders. They reused old wood pallets, staking them and turning them into functional seating and tables throughout the space and outside on the patio. MORE PHOTOS
