Lucky Bug Clothing

Denise Ervin is a costume and clothing designer who decided to use her gifts to create a unique childrens' clothing line called Lucky Bug. These clothes have ethnic details inspired by her kid's culture. She started out offering these clothes to fellow adoptees and has expanded to making them available to the general public. A portion of the sales will go to help with food, clothing and education for children in need through the following charities:

The Lucky Bug logo was designed by Denise and Kathy Ervin. The visual influence for the logo came from Denise's two adopted girls from China.

VOICE Omaha

The latest project by SecretPenguin is called VOICE Omaha. Dave Nelson, owner/creative director, is a member of the committee which was created to make Omaha an even better place to live.

VOICE is a non-partisan group dedicated to creating a more inclusive, just, transparent, sustainable and culturally vibrant Omaha by actively supporting leaders, policies and projects that advance this vision.

VOICE will provide a forum for open discussion of ideas and issues regarding the future of Omaha. From these discussions we intend to build consensus on goals and objectives, and then initiate grass root plans to accomplish these aims.

SecretPenguin designed the logo and website for the committee.

Duffy & Partners Celebrates 25 Years of Making Logos

Internationally recognized design firm Duffy & Partners has just posted 25 years worth of logos they have created.  Joe Duffy and his team of designers have created logos for every type of business, from Diet Coke and Starbucks Doubleshot, to Toyota Trucks, the Islands of the Bahamas, and Susan G. Kromen for the Cure. I became a huge fan of Duffy and his design philosophy and process after he spoke to AIGA NE a couple years ago. Below are three of my favorite logos in the collection. 2009 AMA Awards

Congrats to all of the AMA Award winners. I tip my hat to the folks at Webster Design for a great them which was first "Rock Brand" until a cease and desist from Viacom forced the name to be changed to "Rock the Pinnacles." The Weizenheimers were hilarious again as the emcees. The Best in Show winner was Bailey Lauerman for the Omaha Sports Commission for the 2008 Swim Trials.

Ex-Bozell Exec, Charles Peebler Dies at 72

Charles D. Peebler Jr., former CEO of Bozell, Jacobs, Kenyon & Eckhardt, has passed away on April 18 at his home in Palm Desert, Calif. Those who knew him called him "Chuck," a native of Waterloo, Iowa and a graduated of Drake University, who began his advertising career in 1958 at Bozell & Jacobs. He went on to serve as Bozell & Jacobs' president and then as the chief executive for more than 30 years, growing the agency into a New York-based marketing communications company with offices in more than 50 countries. When True North Communications acquired Bozell & Jacobs and merged it with Kenyon and & Eckhardt, Peebler was named president of the new BJK&E. Peebler remained president until April 1999, when he became chairman emeritus. The Interpublic Group later acquired True North. Peebler and his employees shared the benefits from the sale of BJK&E and about 70 of those staffers became millionaires. Peebler was inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame in 2001. SCORR Logo Chosen for LogoLounge Series

SCORR Marketing will have a logo included in the "Initials and Crests" edition of the new LogoLounge Master Library series.

The logo is for Budke’s PowerSports in North Platte, Nebraska, and was created by SCORR Marketing’s Creative Director, Ben Rowe.

Bailey Lauerman Wins Two Internet Advertising Competition Awards

The IAC awards recognize excellence in online advertising and are awarded annually by The Web Marketing Association.

Bailey Lauerman created a mircosite for the launch of the Exmark’s new Next Lazer Z zero-turn mower, www.nextlazer.com. This site was awarded the outstanding Web site award.

The Collegebound Nebraska website, www.collegeboundnebraska.org, is an informational microsite for the University of Nebraska to inform high school students and their parents about tuition assistance. The site received an award for best university rich media online ad.
