Jacobsen is a Textron company based in Charlotte, N.C. Jacobsen manufactures high-end mowers and utility vehicles for golf courses, sports fields and grounds maintenance. Jacobsen also manufactures the Cushman Turf-Truckster a heavy-duty work vehicle in the golf industry and other products such as sprayers, dethatchers, aerators and infield groomers.
Swanson Russell will be working on advertising, media planning, strategic planning and counsel, and direct marketing services for Jacobsen.
Check this latest project by What Cheer called MixTape.me. The project, the brainchild of Adam Pash who also developed the back end portion of the project, is "an index of music that already exists online and allows users to mix and share playlists." What Cheer was designed the MixTape.me logo and overall graphic look for the what looks like a web-based iTunes. Stay tuned more What Cheer work coming soon, they have been busy.
I'm sure you have all heard about the upcoming Omaha Mayor election. It is hard to miss with the OWH stories, TV spots, billboards, debates and lawn signs. Above are the logos of the candidates for Hal Daub, Jim Vokal and Jim Suttle. It is interesting to see their logos up against each other as a designer and not a voter. In my opinion Vokal's logo takes the essences of the Obama logo (not being a typical election logo) using the Omaha skyline in it. Daub and Suttle's logos however are made up of simple typefaces, small props to Suttle for going sans-serif and adding in his website url to the logo. Can anyone explain the big arching "comet" streaks that appear in all the logos? Any idea who designed what? Logo Winner: Vokal.
It seems like there is always drama with state accounts. The latest is the rebranding of the Wisconsin logo and tagline. It has been mentioned that the tagline is ripped from a Bacardi ad and the "cartwheeling" icon resembles someone doing a keg stand (which someone did parody) both of which remind the rest of the states of the stereotype of Wisconsin as an alcoholic state. On The Creative Cooler, two Wisconsinite designers weigh in on the new rebrand. Brand New also picked up on the story. At least they hired an in-state design firm.
As reported before a logo design by Oxide Design had received entry into the new Masterworks LogoLounge book. Turns out there are two more Omaha-based design logos that made it into the book too. The first is called "VNDK8 Grandroyal Crest" which was designed in collaboration with Steve Gordon of RDQLUS Creative and Travis Bellinghausen of Corporate 3 Design. The logo is a featured mark for their apparel & style brand "VNDK8 Freestyle." The second design solo by Steve Gordon is called "Back Roads & Beaches" which is an outdoor recreation initiative organized by the Lorain County Visitors Bureau of Lorain Co., Ohio. In conjunction with the new SAC Federal Credit Union logo unveiling other SAC FCU branding has been rolling out via OBI Creative. New billboards are going up with the updated branding, a TV spot has started to air and a new microsite JoinSAC.com has launched.
